Greetings, fellow Earthlings and digital denizens! Today, we embark on a short, whimsical journey through the creation of Player One Universe — a game-fi and web3 platform born out of two developers undying love for gaming, MMOs and DnD.

The Joystick of Destiny: A Childhood Love for Gaming

Picture this: a time when our biggest life decision was choosing between Mario and Luigi, or Ken and Ryu. Ah, the good ol’ days of button-mashing and pixelated adventures! It was this nostalgic journey back to our childhood that sowed the seed for Player One Universe (P1U for short). Fast-forward thirty years and throw in a twenty five year career of programming experience, and the scene was set to create a new haven for gamers, degens and everybody else.

The P1U founders decided to hitch their wagon to the dynamic duo of web3 and Discord communities. Why, you ask? Well, we saw the often touted issue of NFTs having limited utility, and we see Discord communities playing games through various bots and we thought wouldn’t it be cool if I you could jump into a game that is unique and private to your NFT holder or Discord community? A private metaverse, if you will. The PFP NFTs could be used to create completely unique and playable 3D avatars in those worlds, and everyone could run around playing, chatting and interacting just how they already do on X and Discord anyway.

So, that’s what we are building. And we’ve already gotten pretty far…

Dungeons & Digital Dragons: Crafting Witches & Werewolves

With our brains brimming with creativity and caffeinated beverages, we drew inspiration from another cherished love — Dungeons & Dragons. The result? Our first playable collection for Genesis Pass holders, Witches & Werewolves. Each character a DnD inspired with or wolf, released in both 2D and 3D with the 3D being a representation of the unique 2D PFP art.
